Melanie Geroche Recreation Therapist
Melanie is a Recreation Therapist. She is empathetic, attentive, and patient with her clients. Her focus is on creating an inclusive and supportive space for those she helps. Her goal is to empower individuals, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.
She is offering “walk and talks” and small group community outings. Melanie has lived mental
health and trauma experience making her
empathetic towards others’ struggles and
triggers.
Melanie has lived all over the GTA but has found a
home in Hamilton. She loves her dog Maple and
adores all animals. In her recreation and leisure
time, she enjoys photography, listening and playing
music, dancing, meditating, painting, hiking, playing
video games, and watching TV and movies.
Melanie has worked in a variety of settings such as municipalities, elementary schools, long-term care facilities, and within the community. Melanie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Communications. Certificates in Crisis Intervention from Distress Centre Halton, Peer Support from Women’s Centre of Hamilton, and Domestic Violence Risk Assessment and Management from Western University. She also regularly volunteers at the Distress Centre Halton.
Melanie's life is a mix of creativity, compassion, and community spirit. She enjoys seeing the people she supports grow and learn new capabilities and talents along the way.
